Carlos Alcaraz on Monday (Manila time) won his first Wimbledon men’s singles championship and footage released by the tournament showed some similarities between his title-clinching point with Rafael Nadal’s historic win against Roger Federer in 2008.
The video shows the last game playing out alike, up to the way both Alcaraz and Nadal laid down on the grass after their winning plays.

The two also dethroned long-time defending champs, with Nadal dethroning then five-time defending champ Federer, and Alcaraz winning it against Novak Djokovic who was coming from four straight championships.
Nadal also won his first Wimbledon singles title in 2008. On top of that, both of them are from Spain.
Alcaraz is currently the world’s number one. This was his second Grand Slam title after his triumph in the 2022 US Open.
