The Philippines on Wednesday logged 188 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide caseload to 4,170,577.
Data from the Department of Health’s latest bulletin also showed that the active cases dropped slightly to 5,395, the lowest total in almost 12 weeks. According to GMA Integrated News Research, this is also the ninth day of decreasing active cases.
Total recoveries climbed by 243 cases to 4,098,657 while the country’s death toll increased by 10 to 66,525.
In the past two weeks, the National Capital Region (NCR) had the most new COVID-19 cases with 786, followed by Central Luzon with 635, Calabarzon with 455, Western Visayas with 348, and Ilocos Region with 315.
Among the cities and provinces, Quezon City recorded the most new cases in the past 14 days with 188, followed by Nueva Ecija with 150, Iloilo with 144, Cavite with 132, and Bulacan with 127.
The DOH added that 5,784 individuals were tested on Tuesday, while 310 testing labs submitted data.
COVID-19 bed occupancy is at 15.7%, with 3,814 occupied and 20,517 vacant as of July 18. — Sherylin Untalan/BM, GMA Integrated News
