The Office of Pasig Vice Mayor Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. warned the public on Thursday, July 20, against a Facebook account that is posing as the public official and using it for scams.
“Mayroon po tayong natatanggap na mga reports ng pekeng account na ginagamit ang pangalan ng ating opisina sa kanilang mga scam (We have been receiving reports of fake accounts using our office name for scamming),” the Office of the Vice Mayor (OVM) stated on their official page.
“Hindi po kailanman manghihingi ang ating opisina ng inyong bank o e-wallet account details (Our office will never ask for your bank or e-wallet account details),” it added.
The fake Facebook account identified by the OVM can be seen imitating the posts, captions, profile and header pictures of the official page.
It has already amassed 3,036 followers as of this writing.
On June 1 and April 10, the OVM also issued similar warnings against fake accounts posing as the vice mayor, especially those that post fake news. Those accounts were reported and deleted.
The OVM advised the public to immediately report fake accounts.
The only official Facebook page of Jaworski has 18,000 followers and 13,000 likes.
