The Philippine women’s national football team will have a busy schedule after it wraps up its campaign in the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup as it will immediately compete in the Asian Games in September in Hangzhou, China.
The Filipinas have been slotted in Group E alongside world no. 17 South Korea, no. 50 Myanmar, and no. 78 Hong Kong during the draw held on Thursday.
The top team in each group and the three best runners-up will advance to the knockout stage.
The Filipinas didn’t participate in the 2018 Asian Games edition, where Japan defeated China to claim the gold medal while South Korea took home the bronze medal after beating Chinese Taipei in the battle for third.
Currently, the FIlipinas are looking to advance to the Round of 16 in the World Cup as they hold a 1-0-1 win-draw-loss record alongside co-host New Zealand.
