Another Filipina volleyball player will see action in the Korean Volleyball League as Iris Tolenada inked a deal to join the GS Caltex Seoul Kixx for the upcoming season.
Tolenada was previously part of the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in the PVL, where she plays as one of their setters alongside veteran Kim Fajardo and rookie Mars Alba.
GS Caltex is a three-time champion, winning the title in 2008, 2014, and 2021 while also finishing as runner-up in 2009 and 2013.
Originally, Tolenada threw her name during the league’s Asian Quota Draft last April alongside other Pinay volleyball stars MJ Phillips, Jia Morado, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Majoy Baron, and Mylene Paat but only Phillips was drafted by Gwangju AI Peppers.
According to the team, Tolenada will join the squad in August as she is set to replace Soraya Phomla from Thailand.
