Gilas Women bounce back at Iran’s expense in Jones Cup

After falling to the Chinese Taipei Blue in their opening game in the Jones Cup, Gilas Pilipinas Women bounced back at the expense of Iran, 64-58, on Sunday in Taipei.

The nationals relied on a strong third quarter as it outscored Iran, 26-9, to end the said frame at 49-39 in their favor, before they eventually took the win and improve their standings to 1-1.

Jaz Joson and Kacey dela Rosa chipped in 12 points apiece while Jack Animam had 15 rebounds on top of her seven-point output.

The Philippines will next face Chinese White on Monday afternoon.
