Alexei Claire Breaks Free from Expectation in Debut Single ‘Girl of your Dreams’

Former girl group member-turned-soloist Alexei Claire reclaims her identity and dismantles the pressure of living up to people’s expectations in her debut single “girl of your dreams.”

Alexei began her music career as a member of P-pop girl group YGIG before leaving the act in 2025. She previously appeared in the music video for Maki’s “Bughaw.” Now pursuing her solo music career under Tarsier Records, Alexei introduces a more personal side of herself through “girl of your dreams.”

She wrote and co-produced the song with Jameson Tenorio and BGYO’s Nate Porcalla. Through its message of self-acceptance, the track encourages listeners to let go of the need to become someone else’s ideal and embrace who they truly are.

In a social media post, Alexei reflected on her journey of pursuing her dreams and how she gradually lost herself trying to meet other people’s expectations.“I started a journey towards my dream as an innocent, passionate young girl. I was confident that I would be resilient and strong enough. Well, little did I know, I started losing myself to be who people wanted me to be. I started chasing other people’s dreams. I have had enough of their expectations. I have had enough of their judgment. And I am done destroying myself to fit in,” she said.
