Chicosci to Represent the Philippines at the Baybeats Musicfest Stage in Singapore

The Philippines’ post-hardcore trailblazers Chicosci are heading back to the Baybeats Music Festival in Singapore on October 31, marking their much-awaited return to one of Southeast Asia’s most celebrated stages.

Known for their high-energy sets that blend emo, punk, and alternative rock with effortless swagger, Chicosci last performed at Baybeats 15 years ago—leaving a lasting impression that fans across the region still talk about today.

This year, the Manila-born band steps back into the Singapore spotlight, now with a sound that has evolved over time while staying true to the same passion and spirit that defined their early years.

For Singapore fans, Baybeats is a chance to relive favorites like “Paris,” “A Promise,” and “Chicosci Vampire Social Club”—songs that became anthems of the 2000s Filipino rock movement. For newcomers, it’s a perfect introduction to the band that helped shape an entire generation’s late-night playlists.

Hosted every year by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Baybeats has long served as a cultural bridge for Asian artists, bringing together fresh voices and veteran acts who have defined their country’s sound. For Chicosci, this homecoming of sorts goes beyond just another festival slot—it’s a reunion with a community that has supported them from the start.

“Singapore is very special to Chicosci,” shares vocalist Miggy Chavez. “It’s one of the first places outside of the Philippines where we played. Being invited back to the Baybeats stage is a privilege and a huge honor. More than anything, we’re excited to perform for the Filipinos who’ve been with us since day one.”

This November, Baybeats continues its tradition of spotlighting regional talent—and for fans of Filipino rock, Chicosci’s return makes the festival one to look forward to.

Baybeats Music Festival 2025 runs from October 30 to November 2 at the Esplanade, Singapore.
