PAGCOR, LEDIPO Taytay Rizal Deliver Urgent Relief to Fire-Ravaged Families in Rizal, Extend Aid to Flood Victims in Sorsogon

Taytay, Rizal — May 6, 2023 — The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), together with the Local Economic Development Promotion Office (LEDIPO) Taytay led by Cristina “Chin” Gonzales, acted swiftly to provide critical aid following a massive fire that destroyed four barangays in Taytay on April 8.

The blaze — one of the deadliest in recent memory — claimed at least seven lives in Barangay San Juan and left over 60 families homeless. More than 300 families remain in evacuation centers, struggling to rebuild their shattered lives.

On May 5, PAGCOR and LEDIPO Taytay distributed food and non-food relief packs to affected families, offering a lifeline of hope and essentials amid the devastation.

“We stand with our community in their darkest hour. This aid represents our commitment to help our people recover and rebuild,” said Ms. Gonzales.

The relief mission didn’t stop there. Responding to the heavy rains that flooded parts of the second district of Sorsogon, PAGCOR and LEDIPO Taytay also delivered 500 food packs to families displaced by the recent storms.
