ONE OR EIGHT Carved Their Own “Yellow Brick Road” as the New Black Clover Ending Theme

ONE OR EIGHT has never waited for someone else to draw the map. Now, they’re carving out a new road with “Yellow Brick Road“.

Written as the ending theme for the 2nd Season of Black Clover, the new single marks the group’s first Japanese-language song. Inspired by protagonist Asta’s journey of moving forward despite being born without magic, “Yellow Brick Road” turns that struggle into a message about choosing your own path, finding strength in the people beside you, and continuing even when the road gets rough.

This single arrives at a genuinely active moment for the group. It follows closely behind ONE OR EIGHT’s first-ever EP “EN-GÏNE“, released 16 September, and lands just ahead of ONE OR EIGHT Special SHOWCASE 2026 in ASIA -V8-, which will be taking the group to Singapore on 21 October, Manila on 23 October, and Bangkok on 25 October. The group has also been actively appearing on Korean music programmes as part of their continued presence both in Japan and internationally.

“Yellow Brick Road” points to a road that is not always straight or easy. There may be detours, uncertainty and moments when the destination feels far away, but having someone beside you makes it possible to keep going. And somewhere along that journey comes the realisation that the strength you were searching for may have been inside you all along.

ONE OR EIGHT know that feeling well. Rather than follow a predetermined path, the group has built its journey by making their own choices and carving out their own way forward. “Yellow Brick Road” reflects that side of their story, trading a triumphant victory anthem for something more personal: the quiet determination to keep walking despite anxiety, loneliness and uncertainty.

Even the “君” (you) in the song carries double meaning. It isn’t just Asta’s companions, it’s 1DERZ too, the fans who’ve been walking beside ONE OR EIGHT this whole time.

That same spirit carries through the sound. Built as a mid-tempo ballad with a grand, open sound, it lets a sense of hope grow gradually, as if the song itself is guiding you toward whatever’s waiting on the other side of the hardship. The artwork follows the same idea: a fantastical landscape lit in sunset colours, the road travelled before finally arriving somewhere worth reaching.

The result is not a song about finally making it. It is about looking beside you, recognising who has been there through the journey, and taking one more step together.
