Philippine maritime rights 'arise from territory,' not EEZ lines -- DFA

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Friday the Philippines' maritime entitlements emanate from sovereignty over territory--such as islands and other high-tide features--and are not dependent on whether these land features fall within the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of any nation.
