6ENSE’s Comeback Song ‘Muni-Muni’ Turns a City Pop Love Song into a Bold Statement on Obsession, Fame, and Power

The P-pop group’s dreamy anthem hides a striking social commentary in its music video twist.
[Manila, Philippines – October 2025] – Rising P-pop boy group 6ENSE returns with their newest single Muni-Muni (under Sony Music Philippines), a nostalgic yet refreshing City Pop-inspired track that celebrates the butterflies of having a crush, even when it’s one-sided. But while the song captures the innocent thrill of daydream love, its music video takes a daring turn, revealing a powerful hidden message about obsession, fame, and abuse of power.
Produced by Ken Ponce and written by Wiji, the group’s leader, Muni-Muni completes 6ENSE’s three-part trilogy on love. Following Amin Amin (the wait for confession) and Para Sa Iyo (the fear of admitting feelings), this third installment shifts to a new perspective: a crush that never interferes. It’s love at a distance: harmless, happy, and content with just the daydreams, butterflies, and “what ifs.”
“Mas masarap magkacrush kapag walang chance,” the boys sing a line that has quickly resonated with fans who embrace the joy of admiration without expectation.
The Music Video’s Hidden Layer
While the single offers a bubbly, nostalgic listening experience, the music video reveals a darker, layered narrative. Told through two perspectives, it contrasts dreamy admiration with harsh reality showing how the sweetness of a crush can shift into obsession.
In a bold creative choice, 6ENSE themselves play the antagonists, symbolizing how “people with fame, money, and power can get away with anything.” By embodying this uncomfortable truth, the group uses their platform to voice out a social issue that extends beyond fandom, turning a seemingly lighthearted MV into a commentary on unchecked influence and the dangers of delusion.
“On the surface, it’s a song about crushes,” Wiji explains. “But we wanted the MV to show a deeper truth that admiration can blur into obsession, and power can be abused. It’s something happening in real life, and we felt it’s important to give it a voice.”
A Nostalgic Sound for Today
Sonically, Muni-Muni pays homage to classic 90s and early 2000s boy groups like Backstreet Boys, Westlife, H.O.T, F4, and local icons Maskulados, while giving the sound a fresh, contemporary polish. The result is a track that feels both timeless and current, appealing to fans across generations.
6ENSE as Storytellers of P-pop
What makes this even more remarkable is that 6ENSE is a fully self-produced and self-managed group under N.EXT Entertainment. With only a small team, they’ve proven that independent voices in P-pop can spark big conversations challenging norms, raising awareness, and amplifying stories that need to be heard.
With the release of Muni-Muni, 6ENSE cements their place as story-driven artists who aren’t afraid to pair playful pop with meaningful commentary. By blending nostalgia, personal stories, and social awareness, the group continues to push boundaries in P-pop making them one of the most exciting acts to watch in 2025.
